THE NAME OF A CENTURY-OLD COMPANY ?
Excellent question!
ÉKOFAB is the result of a global rethink undertaken with the entire team.
Since 1919, when Fornells was founded by its eponymous founder, there have been a number of notable developments, that you can follow here.
Fornells began as a small family business specializing in engraving during the Art Deco period. Mr. Fornells worked with some of the greatest names in the industry, including René Lalique, with whom he created beautiful perfume bottles (among others).
Then Fornells adapted to the technical and technological evolutions that took place over the years.
WITH MAJOR TURNING POINTS.
A radical change in our manufacturing processes
In which circular economy has become the cornerstone in order to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.
The creation of a subsidiary in the United States
Where we export our knowhow in the equine and construction sectors.
The desire to adapt to new modes of consumption
With the rental offer proposed by TÉO, which joined the Group in 2023.
Opening up to private customers
In addition to professionals - with the creation of TÉKIDÉ, in 2024.
We’ve come a long way from the small business of the early days. That’s why we wanted to materialize these changes with words – names, in this case – that better represent us:
Our fab factory
Whose products are distributed by our commercial entities, divided by business sector.
Construction, events & urban planning
A team specializing in the sale and rental of equipment for construction, events and urban planning.
Horses first
Equipment and solutions to improve equine well-being and horse and rider safety.
In the US
for construction, events, urban planning and horses, in the USA.
Coming back to the choice of name, it seemed obvious to us:
It’s simple and easy to remember,
It speaks for itself: circular economy + fabulous manufacturing = ÉKOFAB,
It reminds us of a lot of things we love: the Fab Four, Absolutely Fabulous, the French Fab… In short, we love the name, and we hope you will too.
